In John Hunter’s world peace speech, he discusses teaching complex world issues to children and getting them to try to solve them. Hunter is a teacher who believes that children’s abilities are greatly underestimated.
Hunter has created a game that he plays with his fourth grader students. He gives these young children a 13-page hand out that lists overlapping world issues, then asks them to work together to solve these problems without war or violence. Hunter initially sets them up to fail, but he claims that people would be surprised by the intelligent solutions that these children come up with.
John Hunter goes out of his way to make this world peace game complex to challenge his students. Hunter talks about how they impress him with their wisdom and compassion.
