17-year-old American nuclear scientist Taylor Wilson is the youngest person in the world to create nuclear fusion, and since he did so in his parents' garage at the age of 14, he is also the thirty-first to do so privately outside of government and industry. Taylor Wilson has continued to pursue nuclear science in his at-home lab, as well as a lab at the University of Nevada, Reno, and recently presented his research into homeland security to President Barack Obama at the White House science fair.
