Pledging Peace

President Barack Obama delivered a keynote address at the 2012 AIPAC Policy Conference in Washington, D.C., on March 4 in which he discussed the shared values and renewed commitment between America to Israel. The AIPAC Policy Conference is the annual conference of the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee, a lobbying group that advocates pro-Israeli policies to the United States Congress and Executive Branch.

Barack Obama relates the historic relationship between the United States government and Israel in order to eradicate any doubt of his commitment to both Israel and peace, stating that American support of the country has not wavered when there has been a Democratic or Republican president. Barack Obama also touches upon the pressing issue of the security concerns of both countries, a common interest he says they share.
