Software designer Brad Templeton's power talk answers the age old question of why our computers don't run faster. While it is entirely possible to manufacture quicker computer operation systems, the problem is actually in creating a battery that can keep up with the computer chip's exhilarated speed.
One of the difficulties with creating faster operating systems is that to run a computer at a higher speed leaves the machine overheated. That's why many computers are littered with heavy fans to keep the computer's parts from melting. Templeton explains that "you're limited by what the battery can do" because of its size and the way it overheats. In that regard, Templeton advocates that we need to direct our attention to creating better batteries that are also commercially viable.
