Sugata Mitra's Youth Education Keynote Explores Kids Teaching Themselves

Sugata Mitra's youth education keynote explores the ways that children in India provided themselves with an education after he installed an ATM with a computer screen in a slum.
This fascinating experiment provided Mitra with a variety of insight and lessons about youth and education. Through his experiment with the ATM, he discovered that groups of children can learn to use computers and the Internet independently (without the assistance of any teachers) irrespective of who they are and where they are.
Groups of children, whether they are rich, poor, in a classroom or in a group outside, can learn anything on their own. He suggests then that teachers can interfere in the learning process and experience for students and children, often hindering the potential lesson and insights a child can take from a situation.
