Michael Dell's Failure Speech Explains Why Failure is a Good Thing
Kyle Towers — March 21, 2013 — Keynote Trends
Michael Dell, the eponymous founder of Dell Computers, delivers an encouraging and insightful failure speech. In the speech, he explains why failure is actually a good thing.
Dell states that failure is one of the best ways to learn, and some of the greatest breakthroughs have come from failure. He states that if one is only experiencing success, then they are definitely not taking enough risks.
In his failure speech, Dell uses the real world example from when he first became CEO of a public company. He explains that he would deal with setbacks in a pragmatic matter rather than attaching himself to those issues emotionally. This coincides with the theory that work should not be taken personally.
