Speaker Sam Harris discusses inherent morality in this intuition speech. Harris explains that intuition decides for people what is right and what is wrong. He states that while some believe that morality stems from religious texts, people would know right from wrong without it.
As an example, Harris talks about the second World War. He points out that people would have known that it was wrong to try and wipe out an entire group of people based on small differences, without any help from The Bible. This is because the answer to "is it right or wrong?" is so obvious in that case, as it is in so many others.
Harris suggests that a person's intuition is actually more reliable as a moral guide than religious texts, because so many of them are filled with slavery, inequality and blood shed.
