Atheism as a Moral Compass

Author of the ‘Evolution of God’ Robert Wright discusses his idea that in order for our society to make moral progression, we may have to shed some beliefs that are characteristically associated with religious values. He explains that by doing this, societies may become more enlightened and one step closer to truly accepting one and other.

He shows that it may not be necessary to do away with religion completely to accomplish this goal, but that certain beliefs, doctrines and values would need to be eliminated if we wanted to actually become a more tolerant society.
