Feminine Economic Values

In this finance-related keynote, Halla Tomasdottir discusses the importance of feminine values and principles in the economy. As the co-founder of Audur Capital financial services, a company that successfully weathered the economic crisis in Iceland, Halla Tomasdottir strongly believes in the value of a feminine approach to the economy and financial service.

While Halla does not blame men for Iceland's economic crisis, she does argue that the lack of diversity in the country's financial and economic sectors, namely a lack of women, certainly played a negative role in its infamous breakdown. Halla Tomasdottir believes that by adopting more female-oriented values and principles including risk awareness, honesty, emotional capital and profit with principles, can create a more sound and transparent economic system. In doing so, companies can rely on a more predictable and manageable future.
