Women in the Workforce

Sheryl Sandberg, the COO of Facebook, explores women's position in the workforce today, how it's changed and what needs to happen in the future to see improvements. While women are certainly present in the workforce today, not one profession is dominated by females, and the small percentage of women in executive positions has not changed since 2002. Sheryl Sandberg argues that one of main causes of these statistics is that women today systematically underestimate themselves. Sanbdberg contends that women face significantly harder choices than do men when it comes time to deciding between career success or personal fulfillment. During her speech, Sheryl Sandberg provides three suggestions, which encourage women to take ownership of their accomplishments and success, to fight for the right to put a career first and to not abandon career aspirations because of personal setbacks.
