Fabien Cousteau, the grandson of famous ocean explorer Jacques Cousteau, gives an intriguing exploration talk where he discusses how adventure is founded upon a curiosity to learn more. This same desire is what propelled Cousteau to break his grandfather's record and spend a whopping 31 consecutive days living underwater.
Aquarius is the only current underwater lab in the world located near Florida. Fueled by a curiosity for the sea and exploring the ocean's natural wonder, Cousteau spent 31 days aboard the Aquarius. Throughout this journey Cousteau encountered a variety of sea creatures and underwater communities. Cousteau argues that to understand curious places, contexts and ecosystems we need to spend time inside them in order to learn what they're all about. "If we're going to explore the final frontier on this planet," Cousteau says, "we need to live there."
