Speaker Andrew Ross Sorkin takes a look at what separates the big business leaders of today in this comparing leaders speech. He claims that there are two notable types of leaders, that have two very different skill sets.
Sorkin says that leaders like Steve Jobs are visionaries, who are responsible for creating great products or coming up with brilliant ideas. Sorkin says that not all leaders are visionaries. Some are better at managing staff. Sorkin claims that these two types of leaders often rely on one another. Visionaries aren't necessarily good at managing people, which is where the second type of leader comes in. Sorkin doesn't believe that one type of leader is better than another.
It's interesting to examine big business leaders such as Steve Jobs and compare them to leaders with a completely different set of skills.
