Firstly, he advises to pick your battles. By that he means you don’t always have to win. Sometimes it is better to accommodate and help others win. His second piece of advice is to not add too much value. If you always have to criticize and add your two cents, it will take away from the other person’s commitment and vision. And finally, Marshall ends his management speech by advising to help more and judge less. Judgement can hinder another person’s goal. Instead, you want to help them and build their commitment.
