Abe Foxman Discusses New Age Prejudice Against Jews
Sophia Pelka — February 14, 2012 — Keynote Trends
Abe Foxman is an American activist and serves as the National Director for the Anti-Defamation League. Having studied law and history in university, he is extremely knowledgeable in the area of human rights.
In Foxman's featured speech, he discusses the relevance of anti-semitism in American culture. When he began at the ADL, one of three Americans held anti-Semitic values. Through a change in society and the national environment, the ratings of anti-Semitism noticeably declined; however, while the statistics have toned down, the hatred still exists. Foxman argues that while true hate may still circulate through the nation, at least it is considered unacceptable. While prejudice may continue into the next century, it has become more and more taboo, which he hopes will hopefully result in its abolishment entirely.
