Will Allen's keynote career is dedicated to spreading the belief that everyone should have access to affordable and healthy food.
He is currently the Founder and CEO of Growing Power Inc., but previously held careers as both a professional basketball player and a corporate sales associate. He holds a B.A. in Physical Education and an honorary Doctorate of Agriculture from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.
Both the work done by his organization, where he educates youth on how to effectively provide for themselves, and the time spent growing up alongside a father in the sharecropping business has greatly influenced Will Allen's keynote career.
He was named as one of Time Magazine's '100 World’s Most Influential People' in May of 2012 and also collaborated with First Lady Michelle Obama on the launch of her 'Let’s Move' campaign, geared toward fighting childhood obesity in America. He has also received numerous grants and designations including the MacArthur Foundation 'Genius Grant' which was awarded to him in recognition of his work in the sustainable farming industry.
