The Simon Doonan keynotes speak to the overarching importance of fashion. While many place primary emphasis upon the way they look at work, Doonan advocates the need for day-to-day attention to ensembles and appearances. He believes in the power of perception, meaning that by altering one's look, the way in which one will be viewed will change, often for the better.
Doonan is an internationally recognized style expert and is currently the Creative Ambassador-at-Large for New York's Barneys retail store. He began his interest in the clothing industry in his native UK as an employee of the Heelas department store chain. As his skills continued to develop he moved up the English ladder and eventually joined the ranks of Aquascutum and Nutters of Savile Row. His unmatched window dressing abilities were soon taken note of, and in 1986 he joined the Barneys decorative team.
Those who have become enamored with Simon Doonan's keynotes will find his stories and advice listed in the pages of Slate Magazine and The New York Observer, the two publications that he has kept longstanding columns with. His appearances on VH1's 'I Love the' show and America's Next Top Model have also been quite successful.
