Riley Crane

The keynotes by Riley Crane focus on crowdsourcing and the social media capabilities of new technology. Riley Crane describes his problem-solving process as in competition with a team from the MIT Media Lab that explores new communication paradigms.

Riley Crane earned his bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Texas at Austin, and a PhD in physics from the University of California, Los Angeles. He worked at the Complex Systems Summer School at the Santa Fe Institute, and as a post-doctoral researcher at ETH Zurich. He is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the MIT Media Lab, and is the co-founder and CTO of Talkto.

Riley Crane won the 2009 DARPA Network Challenge, and his work has been published in The New York Times and New Scientist. The keynotes by Riley Crane introduce audiences to new communication processes, and ways to fortify network power.
