Pedro Noguera is both a speaker and a professor at the New York University. Noguera's official title at the university is Professor of Education. He is a sociologist who does research on education, looking at how it's effected by economic and social factors. He's also a member of NYU’s Department of Sociology.
Noguera received a bachelor's degree in Sociology and History from Brown University, in the early eighties. He also earned his master's degree at Brown University. He went on to earn a doctorate in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley.
Noguera has published a few books. Among them is 'The Imperatives of Power: Political Change and the Social Basis of Regime Support in Grenada', and 'City Schools and the American Dream.'
