Paul Zak

Zak attended San Diego State University for mathematics and economics and ended up receiving a Ph.D in economics at the University of Pennsylvania. He also has post-doctoral training in neuroimaging from Harvard. Zak was interested in uncovering the scientific connection behind morality and discovered that the chemical, oxytocin, determined who individuals trust.

He is currently a professor at Claremont Graduate University, directing the Center for Neuroeconomics studies. He is also a professor of neurology at Loma Linda University Medical Center while acting as a researcher for UCLA. His book, The Moral Molecule, is set to be published in 2012.
