Neil Harbisson

The Neil Harbisson keynotes explain how the Eyeborg contraption has transformed his color-blinded life to pitch the benefits of hearing color and consequently appreciating different types of beauty.

Harbisson attended Dartmouth University of Arts and grew up completely color-blind. A chance meeting with Adam Montandon (a cybernetics student) led them to create the Eyeborg, a computer contraption that synthesizes color into sound waves that vibrate on one's cranium. He started wearing an Eyeborg at age 21, and the software soon melded with his brain to create a new medium of perception for him. In 2010 he co-founded the Cyborg Foundation, an organization that would help those who are interested to become a 'cyborg' as well.

He is currently in the midst of raising awareness for his organization through talks, LAN parties and speeches.
