Kevin Kelly

The evolution of technology and cultural change have been the overarching themes addressed over the course of Kevin Kelly's keynote career.

An accomplished writer, his work has appeared in publications such as The New York Times and The Economist. He has co-authored and edited several books, the most notable of which being 'Out of Control: The New Biology of Machines, Social Systems, and the Economic World,' in which he discusses the mechanics of intelligence organization and the way by which it functions not as a single entity but rather, as a combination of interconnected ones.

He earned the National Magazine Award for General Excellence for his role at Wired Magazine and has founded several organizations, including the All-Species Foundation, and sat on the board of editors for publications such as the Whole Earth Review and the Whole Earth Catalog.

He never completed post-secondary education and had what he describes as a "religious experience," where he renounced all of his possessions and lived anonymously for a period of time. Kevin Kelly's keynote career spans a wide array of topics but his speeches often discuss the role that technology plays in society at present and the one it will play in the future.
