Kelli Swazey

The Kelli Swazey speeches on the Torajan perspectives on death give us insight into the more clinical view prevalent in Western society. The PhD and cultural anthropologist performed ethnographic research on Indonesian culture as a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow, a Fullbright-Hayes researcher and an East West Center (based in Honolulu, Hawaii) fellow. The speaker also currently acts as a lecturer and visiting scholar at the Center for Religious and Cross-Cultural Studies at Gadjah Mada University in Central Java, Indonesia, where she teaches anthropology and Asian studies. She specializes not just in Indonesian culture, but is also an expert in religious relations, ethnographic research methodology, academic editing and educational counselling.
