Johann Hari

The Johann Hari talk explains the issue of addiction and better ways to address it at a national level. The British journalist and writer has worked for several of the world's most well respected publications including The New York Times, Le Monde, the Los Angeles Times, the Guardian and El Mundo. He was also a columnist for leading British newspaper The Independent for nearly a decade.

Educated at King's College, Cambridge, the speaker has a degree in social and political sciences. Twice named National Newspaper Journalist of the Year by Amnesty International, the award-winning writer authored a book called 'Chasing the Scream: The First and Last Days of the War on Drugs,' covering some of the content discussed in the Johann Hari talk.
