Eric Schmidt

Eric Schmidt's keynotes are a fascinating perspective on modern technology and the competitiveness of the Internet, especially from the view point of Google. Schmidt, the Executive Chairman at Google has previously held the position of software engineer at Sun Microsystems in 1983, followed by his appointment as CEO and chairman of Novell. Larry Page and Sergey Brin, the co-founders of Google met with Schmidt in 2001 and gave him the reins to run their company.

From there, Schmidt has held a prominent position on the Google board of directors, and was CEO of Google from 2001 until 2011, when he stepped down to Executive Chairman after a good decade at the top. Schmidt has also served on the Apple board of directors from 2006 until 2009 and only stepped down due to the intensity between Apple and Google.

Politically, Schmidt has worked as campaign advisor to Barack Obama in the 2008 election and was even considered for the position of Commerce Secretary by the President. He holds the position as chairman at the New America Foundation public policy institute think tank.

Schmidt holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University, a Master's of Science and a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley. Eric Schmidt's keynotes are insightful and engaging.
