As the former Vice Chairman at General Motors Company, speeches by Bob Lutz pack a punch. Some have described Lutz as old school; however such a description would overlook the dynamism of this American auto industry veteran.
Lutz began his career at General Motors Company in the 1960s and soon propelled himself up to the upper echelons of the giant corporation. Born in Zurich, Switzerland and fluent in German, Lutz also served as Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at BMW in Munich, Germany from 1971 to 1974. He then went on to work at Ford and the Chrysler Corporation in senior positions before returning to General Motors in 2001 as Vice Chairman of Product Development.
Beyond his corporate career, Lutz is also an author of two books, 'Guts: 8 Laws of Business from One of the Most Innovative Business Leaders of Our Time' and 'Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business.' As with speeches by Bob Lutz, these books offer a veteran insider's perspective into what makes a good leader.
