Sorrell attended Christ's College at Cambridge University where he received an undergraduate degree in Economics. He then traveled to the United States to complete his MBA at the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration. He later received an Honorary Doctorate in Business Administration from London Guildhall University. in 2001.
