An Entrepreneurial Eco Keynote by Richard Branson
Jaime Neely — December 5, 2012 — Keynote Trends
Richard Branson, the Chairman of Virgin Group, discusses adopting environmentally friendly principles for business empires in this entrepreneurial eco keynote. Branson reminds the audience that there is no 'Planet B' and that the need to create a more balanced and sustainable world is more important than ever and he believes that there is an entrepreneurial way to tackle the problem.
The excuse routinely used by businesses, corporations and governments when it comes to implementing environmental policies is that they cannot afford it because of the financial barriers. What most don't realize, however, is that soon the cheaper alternatives will no longer be available.
Branson argues that striking a balance between consumption and conservation needs to happen right now because preserving the diversity of the planet is crucial to preserving humanity. He concludes his entrepreneurial eco keynote with, "We must look at the issues around protecting our natural resources; one of the biggest entrepreneurial opportunities of our lifetime."
