Speaker Jessica Grahn is a cognitive neuroscientist who studies the connection between music and the mind. Grahn was appointed to assistant professor in the Brain and Mind Institute and the Department of Psychology at Western University, located in London, Ontario.
Formerly, Grahn found herself working at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit in Cambridge, England. While there, she was an Associate Lecturer in Biological Psychology with the Open University. Grahn also previously worked as a research scientist for the MRC (Medical Research Council).
Grahn earned a bachelor's degree from Northwestern University, where she was studying neuroscience. She later earned her PhD at Cambridge University.
Grahn has given speeches about her studies and the Mozart Effect.
