Alec Ross's keynote career is one that was born from what he has learned in his role in the American Federal Government and his humanitarian efforts. His work in the technology sector of public policy as Senior Advisor for Innovation to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been heralded as game-changing and has made a substantial impact on the way that the government views the relationship between technology and diplomacy.
He has been graced with many awards, including being recognized as one of the '40 leaders under 40 years old in International Development,' and one of Politico's '50 Politicos to Watch,' for his role in transforming the government.
Ross attended Northwestern University, where he graduated with a B.A. in history. After completing his degree, he was a member of Teach for America, where he taught low-income students in Baltimore. He also founded One Economy, where he focused on creating innovative methods for bringing technology and information to low-income people. Ross also was a part of the Presidential Transition team for the Obama-Biden campaign as well as being the Convener for Obama for America's Technology, Media & Telecommunications Policy Committee before his current position was individually crafted to fit his skill set.
