Al Vernacchio

Al Vernacchio is a private school teacher who's approach to sexual education has been the subject of his keynotes. Vernacchio teaches at Friends' Central, which is a private school that focuses on helping children grow both intellectually and spiritually.

Vernacchio's well-liked approach to explaining sex caught the attention of The New York Times back in 2011. Vernacchio's unusual teaching method was covered in a story entitled 'Teaching Good Sex.'

Vernacchio compares having sex to ordering a pizza. He explains that the hope with both is that it will result in satisfaction. He says different people like different things both on their pizza and in terms of sex. One has to talk about the preferences for both with a partner.
