This anti-sexual identity keynote by iO Tillett Wright is an impassioned account of her life long identity crisis growing up in New York City.
iO Tillett Wright is a photographer who explains her see-sawing perceptions of her own sexuality growing up as a child actor. Although she is female, she spent almost eight years of her life playing a boy in real life and on camera. However, one day she woke up and didn't want to be a boy anymore.
As iO Tillett Wright shares her anecdotes, she gets to the heart of a struggle that many gay and lesbian people face and that is existing in the gray areas between straight and gay. It was especially tough during the big debate in the United States about gay and lesbian rights.
To address this, she took pictures of thousands of gay and lesbian people to expose audiences to the different forms sexuality takes.
