Conquering Aversion to Vulnerability

Brené Brown gives an insightful vulnerability speech on how to avoid the obvious critics and power through the tasks at hand.

Brown says that no matter what you do, there will always be someone who will criticize you; because while courage is a value it is also a consequence. Yet vulnerability is important, because without it one cannot create. Although it is frightening to expose one's ideas to the world, we must persevere, because for every person who is criticizing your hard work, there is at least another commending your efforts and supporting your work, regardless if you succeed of fail.

If we recognize that there will be critics, and if we recognize that we will have our own self-doubt, yet still push through to the end, than that is a bigger testament to ones character. It is important to not become defined by what people think because then we become vulnerable and miss the chance to prove ourselves.
