In his travel speech, Neil Bennion explains the benefits of travelling with a narrative as evidenced by his own experiences. The speaker tells the story of how he decided to go to Colombia to learn how to dance and write about it. This was a part of his quest to find alternatives to drinking.
This idea of travelling with a narrative means people get to do things they would not otherwise do. Neil found throughout his time in Colombia, one repeating theme or motif was doing something that scared him. By stepping outside of your comfort zone you also get to go to less obvious places and learn about the country in depth.
