Emma Lawton was diagnosed with Parkinson's when she was just 29 years old, a journey that she explains in her talk on positivity.
Although receiving her diagnosis was incredibly difficult for her, Lawton learned through the experience that she had an amazing support system that would enable her to overcome the struggles she'd have to face. In addition, learning of the many others who lived with the disease helped her to feel less alone in the world, and prompted her to accept her condition and move forward with her life.
As someone who works in branding, Lawton decided to "repackage" how she thought about Parkinson's, and think of it through a lens of happiness. In her talk on positivity, she explains that some of the key components of this were accepting herself and finding happiness from within, accepting the bad days as they are, and having a reliable support system.
