Redefined Notions of Leadership

In his presentation on leadership, Drew Dudley explains why we need to redefine the concept. The speaker is concerned society is spending so much time celebrating the things few people can accomplish that people now believe those are the only things worth celebrating. He states, instead, we need to place more value on the things we do everyday.

The presentation on leadership includes a story that serves as an example of the type of moments where someone did something seemingly small that made your life better. The speaker encourages the audience to tell those people about the impact they have. Even though it is scary to think of ourselves as powerful enough to change the lives of others, if we make leadership bigger than us, it gives us an excuse not to expect more from ourselves and others. Leadership isn't about changing the world, it's about changing the understanding others have of the world.
