Bono Stays Positive in This Poverty Keynote
Angela Rajic — February 15, 2014 — Keynote Trends
Bono (born Paul David Hewson,) lead vocalist for the band U2, is all optimism and success in his poverty keynote.
He talks about the achievements activism has achieved. Since the year 2000, there have been many positive turns in the world, including decreases in the Malaria mortality rates in several African countries, 8 million more AIDS patients getting lifesaving medications and decreases in the child mortality rate (down to 2.5 million a year.) Bono touts these success stories as the start of a long road to success in bettering the world and ridding it of poverty and all the ills connected to it.
Bono’s poverty keynote expresses optimism while also preaching caution and strength in overcoming obstacles on the path to eliminating poverty sooner rather than later.
