Matt Lane’s Lecture on Entrepreneurship Reinforces Thinking in the Present
Ady Floyd — March 17, 2016 — Keynote Trends
During his witty lecture on entrepreneurship, Matt Lane explains how his business started -- even before he was ready to launch a company. The idea for his business, ‘BeerBod’ began during his youth, when his passion for drinking beer was only just being realized.
One day, after graduating college and getting a job, Lane held a beer-tasting session in his shed. In hindsight, this was the first step in the creation of BeerBod. Although his business was merely an idea, when asked what he did for a living, Lane would tell people about his BeerBod -- not his day job.
Today, Lane’s company is a web-based outlet, a microbrewery and beer subscription service that caters to a community of beer lovers. During his lecture on entrepreneurship, Lane says that “[he] doesn’t really believe in big ideas, [he] believes in little ideas, and [he] believes in spotting things as and when they are happening.” This is a monumental message to those working in entrepreneurial roles. The statement encourages people to stay curious and alert without overthinking.
