Using vending machines in a surprising and unique way, artist Gabe Barcia-Colombo shows us how these vending machines can be used for a lot more than just dispensing soda and candy bars in his human DNA keynote.
As creator of the DNA Vending Machine, Colombo has created an art installation that dispenses extracted human DNA he took from his artistic friends -- the vials come with a photo of the person who volunteered their DNA.
The DNA Vending Machine art installation mixes art with science and treats DNA as a collectible material, bringing to light legal issues over the ownership of DNA.
