Creating a Collective Will

Mayor of Newark, New Jersey, Cory Booker delivers a hope keynote to help the aspirations of the American nation. Sharing personal stories about his first experiences within Newark, Booker speaks of his time as a self-proclaimed arrogant law student that was inspired by a group of determined women in the community. Booker was struck by the challenges of a violent and drug-filled neighborhood, yet these women were unwavering in their attempts to conspire to save the community.

Booker saw the hope, opportunity and love these women showed, as well as the strength of a human spirit who never gave up on the American dream. Booker's words are filled ambition as he states, "the nation needs more poets, people who can challenge the moral imagination of our communities and rise to a higher potential."
