While he recognizes that it is very challenging to formulate accurate predictions about the future and technology, he is confident about the growing prominence and influence of Cloud technology and computing. He also emphasizes the need to create an open platform on which people can innovate.

The three broad trends he outlines in his future of technology keynote are that absent content will be contextual and relevant, devices will be productivity and time-aware (in other words, the Cloud and network will always know where you are) and lastly, technology and apps will adapt to you and your preferences. Hardware devices will becomes less important and the Cloud will follow you wherever you go.
