This creative speech by Richard Florida stresses the importance of creativity in society. He feels that the main message that he has is that everyone on this planet is creative in some way, and states that 40% of these individuals are contributing members to this creative class.
Florida states that despite the economic crises that caused high unemployment rates, those in the creative sectors retained the highest percentage of job security. He also says that it is forecasted that a large amount of these jobs will be generated over the next ten years.
He feels that the biggest challenge moving ahead is how to get a higher percentage of individuals working in the creative sector, as it will provide higher salaries, job security and will eventually address inequality in the US.
