Aubrey de Grey Argues That Aging is Merely a Disease
Rebecca Byers — February 14, 2012 — Keynote Trends
Author and Cambridge researcher Aubrey de Grey discusses his theory on the biological human aging process and treats it as a disease for which we can develop a cure. Aubrey de Grey, who is Chief Science Officer at the SENS Foundation, explains his theory that humans can live to 1,000 years of age when they focus on reversing on the seven basic ways in which we age.
Aubrey de Grey discusses his plan for robust human rejuvenation and feels that ignoring such budding scientific research is irresponsible and even immoral to not explore these possibilities and give people the option of extending life. Strategies for intervention in the aging process include the "engineering" approach, which would periodically repair the damage between gerontology and geriatrics, at which point damage is converted to pathology.
