The Tim Minchin address at the University of Western Australia offers the new graduates unconventional yet profound life advice. His hilarious and eloquent delivery demonstrates his immense comedic talent, as the speaker began performing his comedy in 2005. He has since won the Directors' Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Perrier Award for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe to name a few.
Minchin also performs his own music as a singer and pianist. He worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company as well to compose the music for Matilda The Musical. The acclaimed adaptation of Roald Dahl's novel premiered in London's West End in October 2011 and came to Broadway in April 2013. He has made numerous television appearances and acted in Showtime's Californication. The Tim Minchin address acknowledges he has not held a typical job, but he has enjoyed an illustrious and varied career all the same.
