In his presentations, Thomas Pogge draws on his experience and insight as an academic to examine issues relating to global and public health.
Pogge holds a Ph.D. from Harvard University in philosophy. He served as a professor of ethics, philosophy and political science in Universities across the globe. Aside from strict academia, Pogge is also an accomplished writer.
He is the co-author of 'The Health Impact Fund;' this book offers plans to make lifesaving medicines accessible to everyone, from the richest to the poorest. He is also the author of 'World Poverty and Human Rights,' which explores ways in which the world can be made a more egalitarian, socially just place. As is apparent in his keynotes, Thomas Pogge does not merely speak about lofty ideals or hopes, but rather actionable strategies on how to achieve those goals.
Currently, Pogge is the Leitner Professor of Philosophy and International Affairs and the Director of the Global Justice Program at Yale.
