Steven Levitt

Steven Levitt's keynote career began shortly after he co-authored the widely acclaimed book 'Freakonomics.' Currently serving as the William B. Ogden Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago, Levitt pursued a post-secondary education in economics at Harvard University, later receiving his PhD from MIT.

Levitt studies, researches and teaches a wide variety of economy-related topics. With close to two dozen academic publications to his name, Levitt is highly specialized in the topics of organized crime, drug use, gang activity and police hiring.

Levitt's work has earned him various awards, most notably the John Bates Clark Medal in 2004, which is awarded by the American Economic Association to a distinguished economist under the age of 40 every two years.
