Stephen Greenblatt

The Stephen Greenblatt speeches give interesting perspective on his literary theory known as ‘New Historicism,’ which aims to understand cultural and intellectual history through literature. Greenblatt is an American literary critic, theorist & scholar.

Greenblatt graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1964, and earned his Master's in 1968, and later completed a PhD in 1969.

He is the author of several publications such as ‘Three Modern Satirists: Waugh, Orwell, and Huxley,’ in the New Haven: Yale University Press, in 1965. And most recently, ‘The Swerve: How the World Became Modern,’ in the New York: W. W. Norton, in 2011.
