Speaker Simon Jackman is a professor in the department of political science at Stanford University. Jack received his PhD in political science from the University of Rochester. He was a visiting doctoral student at Princeton University as well. He also earned a bachelor of arts degree from University of Queensland.
Jackman began his teaching career as an assistant professor at the University of Chicago. He then retained a position as a visiting teacher at University of Sydney. Jackman has had a few different titles since joining the staff at Stanford University, including assistant professor, associate professor and professor (though all of these roles took place within the political science department).
Jackman was a member of the American National Election Studies between 2009 and 2013.
