Paula Kahumbu

The Paula Kahumbu keynotes focus on the diminishing wildlife population and explore measures that can be taken to conserve it. Kahumnu has had a deep passion for wild animals since she was a young girl growing up in Kenya, which led her to pursue a career to help preserve them. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Geography at Bristol University, and a Master's Degree in Wildlife and Forestry Sciences at University of Florida. She then went on to complete her Ph.D at Princeton University, in which she conducted her studies on elephants in Kenya.

Some notable honors that she has received includes the 2011 National Geographic Emerging Explorer and the 2011 Award for the National Geographic/Buffet for conservation leadership in Africa. Kahumbu is currently the Executive Director of the Kenya Land Conservation Trust; however, her previous job roles have included the title of General Manager at Lafarge Ecosystems, the Deputy Director and CITES Coordinator at Kenya Wildlife Services, and the Executive Director at the Kenya Land Conservation Trust.
