Her specialization in languages and the language abilities of infants has been revolutionary to language development.
After graduating with a Bachelor's of Arts from St. Cloud university, Kuhl received a Master's in Speech Science from the University of Minnesota in 1971 and later received her Ph.D from University of Minnesota in both Speech Science and Psychology in 1973.
In 1997, Kuhl was honored with the invitation to speak at President and Mrs. Clinton's Conference on Early Learning and the Brain. Kuhl has been featured on CNN, the New York Times and in many academic journals.
