The Nicole Young talks on why telling stories matters shares some of the speaker's own stories. The award-winning senior producer of CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley is also a producer of the legendary television program 60 Minutes.
The journalist began her career at the age of 19 as an intern at CBS News. In 2003, she became Scott Pelley's assistant before rising through the ranks to become a senior producer. In addition to the experiences, she shared in the Nicole Young talk where she travelled to Florida and the Jordan/Syria border for 60 Minutes, she has also gone to a number of other places with CBS. This includes following stories on toxic waste in China, earthquake aftermaths in Haiti, brutal unemployment in Ohio, airstrikes in Afghanistan, war in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the tsunami in Japan. Her most recent work includes covering the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, the Boston Marathon Bombing and Hurricane Sandy.
Nicole Young also established a non-profit organization called the 1 Generation Project.
